About the Position:
The LVN is responsible for the medical monitoring and care of patients.

About the Role:

Primary roles and responsibilities include the medical monitoring of patients while in the Joint Commission Accredited, DHCS Licensed, DHCS Certified, IMS Designated Detox and Inpatient Program at Cornerstone of Southern California.

.Responsibilities and Duties.

• Acts as a liaison between the Director of Operations and attending independent physician to assist in the dispensing and administering of medications.
• Monitors the medications therapeutic effects on an ongoing basis.
• Provides proper storage and distribution of medications, including adequate documentation and record keeping required by law.
• Develops and maintains a system for controlling all medications stored at the facility to ensure safe and accurate dispensing of medications.
• Reports any medication errors to Performance Improvement as well as the Director of Operations. Takes corrective actions.
• Conducts educational groups to client per program standard.
• Utilizes teaching skills to facilitate ?group counseling? on subjects such as communicable diseases, medication, women's group issues, laboratory results, and health related issues.
• Documents the client?s progress and participation regarding health issues.
• Conducts all interactions with clients in a professional and therapeutic manner, placing the client?s dignity and rights above personality differences.
• Responsible for and coordinates the Infection Control Program (residential) in order to reduce the risks of infections in clients served and the staff who provide the care given.
• Provides TB tests (PPD) and arranges annual health screening for all employees and clients served (including the annual influenza vaccination).
